FNSSS00012 Payroll Administrator Skill Set is assessed under the Principles of Competency-based training, students have to demonstrate their ability to do all activities in each Unit of Competency. There are 5 Units of Competency in this course.

• FNSPAY511 Process salary packaging arrangements and additional allowances in payroll
• FNSPAY512 Process superannuation payments in payroll
• FNSPAY513 Process complex employee terminations in payroll
• FNSPAY514 Interpret and apply knowledge of industrial regulations relevant to payroll
• FNSPAY515 Interpret and apply knowledge of taxation systems relevant to payroll

MYOB Student Edition is included with this course. MYOB is used to complete 3 units - FNSPAY511 FNSPAY512, FNSPAY513.

You will have up to 12 months to complete this payroll course. There is no minimum time frame.

The nominal study and assessment time is 600 hours. However, this is a guide only. As an online course, the time it will take to complete is flexible and dependent on your ability, knowledge and time available. It is important that you choose a pace that suits your needs. 

Digital course training manuals for the Payroll Administrator Skill Set are included as part of the course at no additional cost.

We also provide videos and case studies to assist your understanding and learning of key payroll concepts.

If required, hard copy manuals can also be optionally purchased ($200 for the set). Please note the digital manuals are non-printable and non-editable.

Overview

Your learning journey is about becoming "competent" in the subject matter. Our in-house course writers and assessment team have accounting, bookkeeping and payroll experience or are currently working in the industry. With this in mind we try and make the tasks relevant to what you will experience in the real world. The purpose is not to just pass or fail, rather to become competent using these skills which you can then apply in the real world.

Pre-course

Before starting this course, you may be required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment to ensure we can support you before your studies commence.

Introductory Requirements & Units

The Introductory Requirements include an Oral Communication Skills Assessment and a Work Health and Safety Assessment.

The Unit assessments are completed using a variety of methods and are submitted via our online student portal. They are open book, from either your home, office or classroom, and comprise theoretical and practical exercises.

MYOB unit assessments use MYOB Student version.

If you require supervision of an assessment by Applied Education, additional costs may apply. Refer to Student Handbook

To complete all units in this course, you will need:

• A reliable internet connection as all data files and learning activities are available via our student platform.
• A computer with a Microsoft Windows operating system.^#
• Microsoft Word and Excel.

We will provide links and instructions to download MYOB Student Edition Software.

^# Mac Users, Tablets and MYOB
MYOB software cannot be downloaded to tablets including Chromebooks and since 2020, MYOB is not compatible with Apple’s operating system.

If you only have access to a Mac computer, we recommend you first contact Apple to confirm if the following options are feasible on your computer:

• purchase and install on your mac a windows emulator such as "parallels" to run windows on a Mac at your own cost; or
• use the free inbuilt Mac Boot Camp Assistant on your Mac computer and purchase a Windows OS software licence.

Note: Applied Education and MYOB are unable to support issues relating to a Mac computer.

6-month Payment Plan

We understand that not everyone has the financial resources upfront to invest in training, so we offer payment plans to get you moving faster towards your future.

• An administration fee of $100 is added for this option
• All you need is a valid credit or debit card
• Pay a $250 deposit at commencement of course
• Remainder to be paid over six equal monthly instalments

Concessions on Courses

Concession pricing is available for eligible students as per the Student Handbook. Proof of concession must be provided at the time of enrolment; please contact us to apply for a concession rate when enrolling.

Refund Policy

Refer to the Student Handbook for our refund policy. This course includes a non-refundable administration fee of $250.

Receive a 12-month student membership to the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (valued at $145).

With this option you will put together a portfolio of your work to demonstrate a good understanding of the learning outcomes in the course. The portfolio will contain files such as payroll and BAS information, along with letters and reports that you currently use on a day to day basis.
